Tickets are now available for the final offering in the Atlantic Theater Company’s season, the world premiere of Fernanda Coppel’s Chimichangas and Zoloft. Directed by Jaime Castañeda, performances begin May 23 at off-Broadway’s Atlantic Stage 2, with an opening night set for June 3. The limited engagement runs through June 24.
The world premiere will star Zabryna Guevara, Alfredo Narciso, Teddy Cañez, Xochitl Romero and Carmen Zilles.
Suffering from a profound sense of disappointment after her 40th birthday, Sonia (Guevara) flees her family and goes on a binge of prescription Zoloft and greasy chimichangas. Sonia’s rebellious daughter Jackie (Zilles) and her best friend Penelope (Romero) hatch a plan to lure Sonia back home, while their fathers (Cañez, Narciso) struggle with a secret association of their own.
